programming Command Station OpSw settings using this Roster entry.&lt;p&gt;
(There is some evidence that this tool can modify OpSw settings
when the Command Station switch is set for "OpSw" mode, but be &lt;p&gt;
careful if using this mode.)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The documentation for DCS100 and DCS200 OpSw settings
are not very consitent for some OpSws. Some document versions
&lt;p&gt;show certain OpSw settings, while others do not. It is unclear
whether this reflects actual differences in command station OpSw
&lt;p&gt;implementation and/or device operation.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;As an example, the "Chief" and "Chief II" manuals
provide extensive descriptions for "multiprotocol" &lt;p&gt;
operation with decoders which use Motorola "Trinary"
messaging. "Super Chief" and "Super Chief &lt;p&gt;
Extra" manuals do not have this discussion. It is unclear
whether "Super Chief"and "Super Chief &lt;p&gt;
Extra" command stations support Motorola "Trinary" operation?&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&lt;li&gt;As another example, the values for OpSws 21, 22 and 23
are very inconsistent in various &lt;p&gt;
DCS100 manuals. Once you have found settings for OpSw21-23 which
work for you, do not &lt;p&gt;
change them.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;When manipulating OpSws 36, 37, 38, and/or 39, for the
purpose of clearing internal storage of slots, routes, etc., it
may be&lt;p&gt;necessary to power-cycle the command station or to place
the command station in "Sleep" mode momentarily before returning&lt;p&gt;
to "Run" mode, after writing the the OpSw to the "C"losed state.
The command station may fail to act upon the request if one of &lt;p&gt;these
operations is not done.&lt;p&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Note that JMRI's LocoNet Slot Monitor does not recognize the
Command Station OpSw operations which can clear the slots. &lt;p&gt;
It is best to shut down JMRI and re-start after clearing the Command
