This set was created by back dating the CSX-2014-Chessie rule set created by Suzi Tall. Back dating required removal of some aspects and altering the mapping to compensate for their removal. While based on the 1980 rule book, they are the same rules that were in affect in 1969. C&O 1980 3-3-1 head absolute high signal RYG-YGR-Y - short block As described in the 1980 version of the Chessie System Operating Rules "Signal Rules - 281-292". Appearances for a triple head 3-3-1 lamp signal mast with no lower red or green without other badging. Uses Approach Medium before Approach in short block situations. Short block signals will display Approach Medium ahead of a signal displaying Approach. This was used in areas where there was not sufficient stopping distances between signals.
